Jumptown Big Band will be returning to the Jack London Revue for another exciting evening of big band jazz music. We will be featuring some guest vocalists and we will be performing some great instrumental arrangements that will showcase our outstanding soloists. We will be playing music that will be equally exciting for both casual listeners and active dancers. The Jack London Revue is a jazz club located beneath the Rialto Poolroom Bar and Cafe at the intersection of Southwest Fourth Avenue and Southwest Alder Street in downtown Portland. Jumptown Big Band will be performing an open rehearsal on Wednesday October 23rd 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Eagle Estates in Gresham. We have done this event the past few years at the request of Jumptown Big Band's very own Herb Kost. We will be playing a wide selection of big band arrangements. Come listen as we sight read new charts, play some old favorites, and even take a few requests from the audience. The event is free, but donations will be accepted and go toward facility improvements at this community center. The address is 690 NE Fleming Avenue Gresham Oregon 97030.

Jumptown Big Band presents a Fall Swing Dance Saturday October 19, 2019 starting at 7:30pm at the Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium where we will be featuring the music of Les Brown and His Band of Renown. This will be our third annual event at this location. We had a large crowd of amazing dancers the last two years and we hope to build on that success again this year. We will perform a variety of swing, latin, cha chas, and waltzes with a focus on the music of Les Brown. Portland's leading big band singer Claudia Knauer will be performing some exciting vocal arrangements. This event has been organized for the enjoyment of dancers and listeners alike. We hope you can join us for an evening of energetic music performed by some of the area's top musicians. Tickets are $15 at the door and can be pre-purchased at BrownPaperTickets.com. Jumptown Big Band is excited to be a part of the West Coast Estonian Days Festival with a performance at their Gala Ball on the evening of August 3rd at the Red Lion at Jantzen Beach. This festival, which only occurs every other year, is a celebration of the Estonian culture through choral music, folk dance, and instrumental music. This event is attended by people of Estonian decent who currently live up and down the west coast and provides them a chance to collectively celebrate their cultural heritage.

Jumptown Big Band is returning to The Jack London Revue as part of their Monday Night Bridgetown Big Bands series. We really enjoyed performing at this classy venue back in April and had a great turnout. Please join us again as we feature some recently arranged big band music along with some classic Duke Ellington pieces including one of the movements from his Far East Suite. Jumptown Big Band will be performing on Sunday June 30th 5:30pm to 6:45pm at Laurelhurst Park as part of the “Make Music Day PDX” city-wide musical event – free and open to the public. Make Music Day PDX is a musical event dedicated to the celebration of music of all styles performed by groups and individuals from all over the metropolitan area. Jumptown Big Band will be performing a mix of classic swing standards along with a few contemporary jazz arrangements. Please join us for this free concert in the park and check out Make Music Day PDX website for the list of other fine performers and groups scheduled to perform at the various venues across the city on this day.

Jumptown Big Band will be performing at the St. Rose School 2019 Knight of Inspiration auction fundraiser on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the Cowlitz Regional Conference Center in Longview, Washington. This event is St. Rose School’s largest fundraiser of the year. The event will include a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, and a live auction. Jumptown Big Band will be providing musical entertainment throughout the evening. The proceeds of this event provide additional funding that tuition and fees do not cover. Please show your support of the amazing students and staff of St. Rose School through your attendance at this wonderful event.

Jumptown Big Band will be performing at the PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center Foundation’s Star of Wonder Gala on Saturday, December 8, 2018 starting at 6pm at the Cowlitz Regional Conference Center in Longview, Washington. In addition to live music, this holiday themed event will feature cocktails and dinner along with live and silent auctions. Dancing to music by Jumptown Big Band will follow the auctions. This is a benefit event for PeaceHealth St. John Foundation.

Jumptown Big Band is proud to present a Count Basie Tribute Party. Last year’s Stan Kenton Tribute Party was such a success that we were asked to perform again. This year we will be performing instrumental arrangements from the library of the Count Basie Orchestra that will feature our outstanding soloists along with vocal charts featuring Claudia Knauer, one of Portland’s top big band vocalists. The Count Basie Orchestra is arguably one of the greatest and most well-known big bands in swing music history. This event will feature a wide variety of Count Basie classics as well as some gems that don’t often get performed by live big bands. We are calling this event a “party” rather than a concert or dance because it will be both. If you are a swing dance fan, this event will keep your feet moving. If you are a concertgoer, you will find this event an exciting evening of aural delight.

This event will be held in the beautifully renovated auditorium at the Multnomah Arts Center at 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97219 in the heart of Multnomah Village on Saturday October 20th 7:30pm to 10:00pm. This venue has a large dance floor and plenty of seating for dancers and concertgoers alike. Light refreshments will be served.
